Our mochi is made without any extra ingredients/preservatives and it has to prepared on the same day you enjoy it to ensure the best texture and taste.
Preparing mochi involves at least an hour of mixing and kneading the mochi dough to make it into a nice, chewy/stretchy texture.
To pre-order, just let us know by phone, email or Instagram DM at least a day in advance, and we can make a box just for you. Or, keep an eye out for the next Mochi Day at the cafe!
No, unfortunately. We are closed on Sundays. We are still open on all other days of the week, Monday - Saturday, 10am - 7pm.
Unfortunately, due to space and efficiency constraints, our kitchen is not allergen-free. We strive to separate ingredients as much as possible. However, any dish or drink at Jancat may be cross-contaminated with known allergens, including but not limited to: nuts, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, lactose, soy, seafood, shellfish, beef, pork, gluten, wheat, and other potential allergens, because we use a lot of different products containing them when cooking various dishes.
Even though we try to be very careful, we cannot make sure your meal is allergen-free, even if we follow your instructions to remove ingredients you are allergic to.
If you have any food allergies, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that any of our menu items are safe for your consumption.
We do have oatmilk which we can substitute instead of dairy milk into many of our drinks. Some drinks may also contain whipped cream and cream cheese in addition to regular milk, so please let the barista know if you have lactose intolerance and to what extent you need dairy removed from your drink. Please note that there may still be significant traces of milk in your dairy-free drink due to cross-contamination that may happen in our kitchen.

Sweet Strawberry and Chai bubble tea has been extremely popular with our younger visitors and their parents, even though chai, being black tea, would contain some amounts of caffeine.
If you are looking for caffeine-free options, we now also offer a Classic Fruit Bubble Tea, with a choice of regular or oat milk and a choice of Mango, Peach, Watermelon and Strawberry real fruit purees. This will be added to our official menu very soon, but feel free to ask your barista for that drink.
As ever, please note that we cannot guarantee that any drink is 100% caffeine-free due to cross-contamination that may happen in our kitchen where we also prepare coffee/espresso.
Not yet, sorry! We'd need a separate grinder for that, as we don't serve anything but fresh coffee that's ground to order.

Sure! We don't chase people out, as long as they are respectful to other guests and to the staff, do not disrupt the atmosphere and safety of the space, and do not use our spaces for unintended purposes.
Theoretically, we still reserve the right to ask people not to loiter excessively at our sole discretion and/or ask people that didn't purchase anything to give up their seat for a paying customer and/or ask anyone to leave for any reason if, at our sole discretion, we believe the person presents a safety risk or is disruptive to guests and/or staff.
As we often have parents with children visit our store, safety is our top priority.
